Ramsey went into their Christmas break with wins over West Park Warriors and Helsby to sit joint top of the table. Their campaign resumes on 10th January at home to Congleton.

The Seconds ended 2008 with back to back defeats and will be looking to bounce back stronger in the new year.


Saturday 10th January

Ramsey v Congleton in South Lancs/Cheshire 4. KO @ the Mooragh is 2.15pm

Castletown v Ramsey B in the Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield. KO @ Poulsom Park is 2.15pm

Probable Ramsey side for the Congleton match is:

JUNIOR NEWS

Training is back on this Sunday at the usual times for all age ranges. There are matches scheduled for 18 Jan so please all try to make training if you can. Also, the weather forecast isn’t particularly friendly this weekend so get those waterproofs out!

Simon Mason still has a small number of Junior shirts available if anyone wants to buy one. He is however awaiting delivery of small sized socks.

On the subject of socks, Colin Higgins from Ramsey Sport & Leisure (or Higgy as he is more commonly known) tells me that he has red and black hoped socks in stock in his shop. He was offering to sell me a paid so I presume these are in adult sizes but if you a desperate for some Ramsey socks, pop along to Higgy’s Sporting Goods HQ in St Pauls Precinct.

Rugby Forum

There will be a meeting of the Manx Rugby Forum on Monday 26th Jan at IOM FA HQ (The Bowl) starting at 6.00pm

The Forum is an offshoot of the MRFU Rugby Development Committee and is aimed at bringing together people with an interest in rugby to help generate ideas about developing the game.

Interested? Want to get involved? Well the meeting is open to all and if you want to get a flavour of what it’s about, I have the minutes from the last meeting and I’ll happily send you a copy.

Club Website Back in Operation

As many of you will have noticed the Club Website has been out of action for the last couple of months due to my personal circumstances. I am pleased to say I am back at the controls and have fully updated the results, league tables and reports where available.
